<< Index Allion
The Toyota Allion was first produced in 2001, and over the years various improvements have been made in the design of the car as well as technical specifications. The name is derived from the phrase "all in one". The car was launched in December 2001, to replace the old Toyota Carina. At the same time another model similar to Allion was launched, the Premio. The car is a compact four door sedan. The 2005 Allion D4 model comes with a range of 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0 ltr engines. The 1.5 and the 1.8 version sports a Super CVT 4 speed transmission (automatic). The 2L engine comes with a 1AZ-FSE VVT-i engine. The main feature of CVT is the smoothness in drive with variable gear ratios. The 1AZ-FSE of the 2L engine gives a decent 155ps at 6000rpm and a torque of 192Nm at 4000rpm. The car also gives a decent mileage of 15.2kmpl, which makes it a perfect family car. The 1.5 and 1.8 come with an option of 2wd and 4wd whereas the 2.0 comes with only 2wd. The 2007 model features the same 1.5, 1.8 and 2.0 models. The engine is DOHC, VVTi with 16 valves. Prices range from $20000 to $25000. The design of the car is really plush and decent. It is similar to the Toyota Vios, although it has a more sporty look to it. The interior is also neat and plush. The 3-spoke steering wheel surely adds to the sporty look. As the car is a compact sedan, it is not very spacious, but the space is quite okay. Most of the interior is compost of a black and gray color. The dash board is also pretty decent. Although there is not too much woodwork, the plastics used are pretty good. All in all, the interior can be stated in one word, neat. |
