Isis is another minivan or MPV from Toyota. The van was launched in 2004 and is marketed only in Japan. The Isis is a 5 door van with a seating capacity of 6 to 7 people. The rear of the van sports a sliding door, similar to the others in its class. The van is an ideal family vehicle and has done well in Japan, the sole market where it is sold. In fact it has been one of the top selling vehicles in Japan.
The 2005 Toyota Isis had front mounted 1.8L DOHC engine with 16 valves(4 valves per cyl). The engine gave a max output of 131.8 bhp@6000 rpm and a max torque of 125.3 ft-lbs @ 4200rpm. The dimensions of the van are 181.5 in X 66.7 in X 64.6 in with a wheelbase of 109.6in. Although the transmission was CVT fwd, the all wheel drive version was also available later on.
The design and styling of the vehicle is top class. The interiors, though not magnificent, are commendable. Although the van looks small from outside, it is quite spacious from the inside. As mentioned earlier, it is an ideal family vehicle, stylish yet practical.
