Ist is a small car from Toyota. It is sold in Japan by the name Ist and in US it is sold under the Scion banner and is known by the name Scion xA. The car comes under the sub compact car category. The car is based on the platform of the Platz sedan. The Ist or scion xA us similar to another small car from Toyota called the Vitz. Other cars in its competition were the Kia Rio as well as the Chevrolet Aveo. The car was not very popular in US where the sales were quite slow. The car featured a 1.5L DOHC Inline 4 engine with a power of 108 bhp at 6000rpm and a max torque of 142 nm@4200 rpm. The car came packed with the usual features such as ABS, power steering, power windows, mp3 player, etc. The car underwent a facelift in 2006 with new modified front and rear bumpers, side skirts, indicators in the side mirrors, ipod jack, etc but the production of the car was discontinued under the Scion xA model to give way to the xD model. |
