The Ractis is a minivan or an MPV from Toyota. Based on the Vitz platform, the Ractis was introduced in 2005 to replace the old Fun Cargo from Toyota. The unusual name is derived from 3 words, Run, Activity and Space. This, in itself sums up the features of the car, a Multi-activity vehicle with lots of space and good driveability. The vehicle is sold only in Japan. The Ractis is similar to the Toyota Passo, the Daihatsu Boon as well as the Perodua Myvi. The van seats 5 persons. The powerplant of the 2006 model is a 1.3L or a 1.5L gasoline engine mated to 5 speed automatic transmission. There is also an option of a Super CVT-i stepless transmission. Although both the models are available in standard 2wd, the 1.5 model also has a 4WD mode. The interior of the car is spacious with the rear reclining seat which can be used to create a big boot space. Instrument is cluster is neat with the gear stick being a part of the cluster. There is not much change in the 2007 model of the Rectis. It also features the 1NZ-FE and the 2SZ-FE engines, same as the previous model. The transmission for the 2WD 1NZ-FE and the 2SZ-FE engine variants is a Super CVT-i whereas the 4WD 1NZ-FE version has a four speed Super ECT gearbox. |
