The Toyota Solara is a mid sized coupe. The car is also sold as Toyota Camry Solara as a Convertible. The Solara replaced the convertible version of the hugely popular Camry line of vehicles from Toyota which are basically sedans. The previous version, known as the Camry Coupe, was discontinued to give way to the Camry Solara. In Canada, the car is marketed as Toyota Solara. Introduced in the market in 1999, the Solara is has done very well in terms of sales. The car is in production till date. The Solara is available as 2 door convertible or 2 door coupe. The target buyers of the coupe are the young upmarket customers looking for a sporty yet comfortable car. The car is pitched against the likes of Honda Accord. The present Solara is the second generation vehicle. The car was restyled and given facelift in mid 2006. The engine options with the car are 2.4L inline 4 VVT-i as well as a 3.3L V6 VVt-i. Both 5 speed manual as well as automatic variants are available. The car has a superb sporty design and aggressive looks. The car is fitted with plethora of gadgets and accessories such as mp3 player with ipod and bluetooth connectivity, voice-activated navigation, Optitron gauges, etc in addition to other features. |
