bB is a small car produced by Toyota based on the Toyota Yaris. Its ia boxy wagon with the contemporary, "tall boy" design, very popular in Japan. In fact the car was targeted for the young generation of Japanese people, forming a big part of the Japanese auto market.
The car is also sold in United states under the Scion brand name. It is known as Scion xB in US. The car was launched alongside another Scion brand the xA based on the Toyota Lst platform. Both the cars are fitted with the same 1 NZ-E
engine. The xB outsells the xA in US owing to its practical design with a lot of leg and boot space.
The engine fitted in the car is the 1.5L, 4 cylinder DOHC , 1 NZ-E engine. It gives a power of 108 bhp at 6000rpm and a max torque of 142Nm at 4200 rpm. The curb weight of the car is 2395lbs or 1086kgs. The dimensions are length 155in, width 66.5in and height 64.6in. The dimensions clearly show the boxy, van-type nature of the car, a very practical design, giving a lot of leg room and head space to the passengers. It is ideal for city conditions.
The 2005 version of the car comes with a new 1.3L K3-VE as well as 1.5L 3SZ-VE engine. It comes with a 4 speed automatic transmission. The car has a good fuel economy of over 30m/g. It comes at a base price of $4500.
